Friends of Rush River (F.O.R.R.)

The purpose of the Friends of Rush River is to manage and maintain the Sibley County Rush River Park near Henderson.Annual dues are $10.00 for single and $15.00 for families. Currently there are about 125 families and single members. Meetings are seasonal (Oct. through April on the 4th Wed. evening of each month) at the Brass Top in Henderson.

The group hosts a Friends of Rush River Dance/Fundraiser in Henderson on the 1st Saturday in March. There is one general day of clean up of trees, branches, gravel, paint and cleaning held each spring.

The goal of the F.O.R.R. is to maintain and manage the park and keep it open for public use for picnics, hiking, camping, and trail rides.

F.O.R.R. was able to open the park (with permission of Sibley County) following its closing by the D.N.R. and the subsequent forfeiting of the park to Sibley County. Funds were raised to make needed improvements to the neglected park. Picnic tables and playground equipment have been purchased and much general clean up has been done to beautify the park.
