Henderson Fire Dept.
The object of this group shall be the preservation and protection of property and life at and during all fires and other emergencies that may occur in the City of Henderson and adjacent townships under contract to the City of Henderson.It shall be the duty of the members of the Department to obey all the commands of their offices while on duty, parade or drill. To report immediately to the Fire Hall in case of an alarm and to help in the fighting of the fire, rescue call or any emergency and returning of equipment. Members will attend all meetings and training sessions and participate in local celebrations. There are currently 24 members of the Henderson Fire Department that meet the 1st Monday of the month at 7:30P.M. and the 2nd Monday at 7:00P.M. for training at the Fire Hall. The goal of the Department is to be trained to the best of their ability to protect the residents and property of the City of Henderson, Jessenland and Henderson Townships. Some of their many accomplishments include: being one of the oldest organizations in Henderson, celebrating 125 years in 2003, organizing Eskimo Day, funding many events and youth activities each year, an expanded facility, well-maintained and up-to-date gear, communications, and firefighting vehicles. HFD’s water rescue equipment makes the department a valuable asset in the River Valley as well. These resources make up an admirable Fire Department, along with its 24 talented members!
